As you can see from this photo, solar panels don't have to be visible from the ground.
More and more councils are requiring environmental sustainability measures, especially for new builds. But many people still don't like the 'look' of the current generation of photovoltaic panels.
So why not think outside of the box when it comes to their location? With this project, Turner Works architecture placed the electricity-generating solar panels away from view, within the rooftop terrace. Neat. Other sustainable features within this home include a wildflower roof, a rain-water-harvesting system and a ground-sourced heat pump. All either beautiful in themselves, or just 'invisible'.
